All Saints will be hosting Chan Space and Sound Bath Healing with Samer Ghadry on the 2nd Fridays of the month.
Please join us and invite friends for this deeply relaxing experience. Free your mind from the left brain, engaging your lower brain waves to relieve stress and nourish your nervous and immune systems. Using a variety of instruments including gongs, crystal bowls, Himalayan bowls, shruti box, voice, tuning forks, and more, Samer guides a 1 hour experience in sound vibration. PLEASE WELCOME THE REV. MEGAN E. SANDERS, our new Priest Associate and the Diocesan Chaplain, Canterbury Downtown
On July 29, Bishop Dietsche announced the appointment of the Rev. Megan E. Sanders as Chaplain to Canterbury Downtown. Megan will be living in All Saint's apartment above the church offices. She is based at Grace Church,10th Street and Broadway. We look forward to having her here in our midst some Sundays and other occasions.

Sanders will provide chaplaincy services for students at New York University, the New School, Pace University, Cooper Union and other campuses downtown, while also serving as Coordinator of the Young Adult Network. She will facilitate regular worship in partnership with Grace Church, providing an Episcopal voice and presence with respect to campus issues. Megan will also participate in the multi-faith, multi-cultural life of the NYU Global Center and the Global Spiritual Life community at NYU.
Megan comes to the diocese having served as rector of St. Paul’s Church, Pleasant Valley, from 2015 to 2019, and as Chaplain to Vassar College. She has served as Interim Pastor at the Church of Saint Andrew on Staten Island from 2013 to 2015, as Port Chaplain and Tri-State Church Coordinator at the Seamen’s Church Institute at the Port of Newark, NJ from 2008 to 2013, and as Assistant to the Rector for Children and Families in Essex Fells, NJ from 2007 to 2008. Megan grew up in Washington D.C. and the Florida panhandle. She has her B.A. from Flagler College in Saint Augustine, FL and is a 2007 M.Div. graduate of the General Theological Seminary in New York City.
The Campus Ministry Committee shares its excitement in this appointment knowing the gifts Megan brings to this position and rejoices that the Episcopal Diocese of New York places a high and vital priority on campus and youth and young adult ministries!

Mid Week/Mid Day: Time Out/Time in!
The Members of our Church already know the sacred beauty found inside the doors of our sanctuary and nave. One of our goals is to open our doors and invite the neighborhood and those wandering by into our sacred space to see the art and hear the music that has comforted and inspired people for the past 125 years.
To this end we are opening our doors each Wednesday from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM to welcome and greet anyone who is drawn into our church to visit, pray, think, meditate, light memorial candles or just wander.
You are all welcome to join us and also you’re welcome to welcome the stranger, the sojourner and the seeker!

Dear faithful of All Saints,
I was asked to share a little about myself with you. Below is not a biography in the usual sense. All those biographical details will come out as we get to know each other! What I want to tell you about is what is on my heart these days.
31 years ago I adopted a beautiful feisty wonderful little girl from Costa Rica. Today Raquel carries her social security card (which won't help her) at all times in case she is questioned regarding citizenship status. When Raquel and Bryan, her husband, who is black, go to movies (which they do constantly) they always note the exits, in case....
This is not the same country that it was when I brought her home. I apologize about it now. That is a huge part of why I am back at General.
Last year I returned to General Theological Seminary, after 40 years, to work on a project close to my heart-- brought on by these divisions that have multiplied in our country since the Presidential inauguration. Last year my goal was to develop programs to help us find ways to connect with people whose politics frighten and repel us. This year I will try out the programs in churches at various coffee hours and forums. This won't change people's politics. Rather, God willing, it will help us find the humanity in each other in spite of politics. I will be grateful if you will hold this project in your prayers!

WELCOME TO OUR NEW SEMINARIAN,
HEATHER SISK 2019-2020
Heather brings a background in administrative programs, spirituality and the arts having previously worked as a program director in the arts and environmental sciences for non profits and in the city museum sector. Her undergraduate degree was in Human Ecology from College of the Atlantic in Bar Harbor, Maine, where she pursued the intersection of art, philosophy, and ecology. Heather previously earned a Masters in Spiritual Direction from GTS and has been facilitating spiritual direction, retreats and quiet days since 2009.
Heather is a cradle Episcopalian and had the opportunity to act as a delegate to the UNCSW from 2006-2009 through the Anglican Observer’s Office to the UN. Heather is a sculptor and board certified anaplastologist, having trained in facial prosthetics through Columbia University and the Bronx VA Medical Center, which combined pastoral care skills, science and art. She has been a member of the Episcopal Church Visual Artists since 2012.
Heather is married to visual artist, Craig Gordon. Her stepdaughter Rachel Gordon is earning a MSW here at NYU. Heather will be spending 20 hours per week at All Saint’s under Steve’s mentorship, participating in worship, implementing programs with the vestry, helping with the community meal, and assisting Steve and Viv with administration.
